Zane Janiszewski Named to WNEP’S “Super 16 Football Dream Team” 2019

Zane Janiszewski has been selected to Channel 16’s prestigious“Super 16 Dream Team” for football. The football players are selected from District II, IV, and XI by the Sports Department at WNEP Channel 16. Zane is the first football player ever selected to represent Western Wayne.

Zane led the Wildcats’s this year with the following:

  • Total Rushing Yards – 1,881 on 231 carries
  • Average Rushing Yards per carry – 8.1
  • Rushing Touchdowns – 30
  • Receiving Yards – 142
  • Total Yards – 2,023
  • Total Touchdowns 33
  • On Defense – 42 Solo Tackles and 59 Assists
  • Sacks – 1.5

Zane is a 3-Sport Athlete, he also plays basketball and baseball for the Wildcats. He is the son of Ken & Karen Janiszewski and resides in Moscow.

Girls Volleyball Team Finish the Regular Season 18-0

Congratulations to Coach Darren Thorpe and the entire Girls Volleyball Team on the perfect season! Starters for the Lady Cats are Rebecca Klemovitch, Sydney Krompasky, Trina Barcarola, Sabrina Swoyer, Kaeli Romanowski, and Katherine Shepherd. The girls beat Crestwood in Round 1 of the play-offs and moved to the Semi-Final round where they will play Nanticoke at Berwick High School on 10/28/19.

Western Wayne Names 2019 Homecoming King and Queen

Western Wayne School District hosted its annual Homecoming Game on Friday, September 13, against Montrose.  Prior to the game, the Homecoming Court of ten seniors was recognized. Afterwards, the King and Queen were announced in front of a full crowd.  This year’s Homecoming King is senior Jack McAllister and Homecoming Queen is senior Kristi Kromko.  Jack, one of three Western Wayne Varsity Football captains, plans to go to college upon graduation and complete an ROTC program.  Kristi, one of two Wildcat Marching Band drum majors, enlisted in the Army National Guard and plans to study forensic psychology in college.  Pictured is Jack McAllister, Homecoming King, and Kristi Kromko Homecoming Queen.
