About the Wildcat Camp

The football camp is a great opportunity for young players to learn basic skills and fundamentals that are necessary for playing football.  It is a mixture of work and fun.  We are fortunate that several present players will help and make this camp enjoyable for the kids who attend.

Camp Director Randy Wolff

Randy Wolff enters his 3rd season as the head coach of the Western Wayne Wildcats.  Wolff has over 19 years coaching experience between Delaware Valley HS and Western Wayne.  In his first two years at Western Wayne, Wolff has lead the Wildcats to an Eastern Conference Championship (2016) and the school’s first District 2 playoff berth in 2017.

7th Annual Western Wayne Elementary Track and Field Meet June 23, 2018

The Western Wayne Track Foundation, in association with The Wayne Youth Advisory Committee will
be hosting our 7th annual Elementary Grades Track and Field Meet (Grades K-6th) on Saturday, June 23rd at
the Western Wayne High School Athletic Complex. The meet registration will be 9:00am in the morning at the
field house. The field events will begin at 10:00am. Track events will begin at 11:00am.
Track and Field is a great sport in which there are different events for different people. A meet like this
is a great opportunity to find out what you like, and what you can expect to see if you join track in middle and
high school! The Western Wayne Track Program invites you to participate in any events you would like to do.
Events from running, hurdling, jumping, to throws will be available!
The entry fee will be $5.00 for each event, or a flat fee of $15 per child. Registration will be a
notecard drop (as was done last year). When you arrive, you will buy separately, a note card for each
event your child will participate in. Simply fill out the note card and place it into the proper event
envelope at the registration table.
In each event and age group, awards will be given to the top 6 places. Food and beverage will be
available at our concession stand. All money raised from the meet will go to help the Western Wayne Track
Foundation. If you need additional information please contact the Varsity head track Coach Justin Collins.
Either call him (570-947-4866), or email him at cjustin@westernwayne.org. You can also visit the Western
Wayne Track Foundation page on Facebook for additional last minute details.
The address for the Meet is 1970A Easton Turnpike Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania 18436.
Important Meet Tips:
Wear sneakers and comfortable clothing.
Bring your attached participant form.
If wanting to be in a relay, if you don’t have a full team you will
be matched with others who also do not!
Running every race or event is very hard. Choosing 3 or 4 that aren’t
back to back is a better idea.
Rain Date for this meet will be Sunday, June 24th with Registration
starting at Noon.

Evergreen Bus Safety for next year’s Kindergarten

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hemmler volunteered their time and came with their BIG bus to teach the children about bus safety for next year when they are in Kindergarten!  Here are some of the important safety tips the students learned:

  • PAY ATTENTION when you are getting on and off a bus.
  • Stop, Look, and Listen – Never start walking to get on the bus until all cars have stopped.
  • Always walk around the yellow bar on the bus so the driver can see you.
  • NEVER pick something up if you drop it when you are getting on or off the bus.  Tell an adult.
  • Hold the rail and watch your step as you get on and off the bus.
  • NEVER walk around the back of a bus.  The driver cannot see you.
  • SIT in your assigned seat every day.
  • Talk quietly.  No yelling.
  • No eating on the bus.

Honoring Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2nd / Read Across America

In honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2nd and Read Across America, Pre-Kindergarten Students at EverGreen Elementary had a fantastic week of whimsical reading activities as they enjoyed the author’s unique rhyming and imaginative characters! After listening to the story, The Cat in the Hat, students created their very own edible hats! Take a close look. Can you guess what they used for their creations? Stacking healthy fruit was their challenge! Pre-K students used kiwi for the base. Then they created a striped pattern with slices of strawberry, banana, strawberry, banana, and finally a strawberry slice to top it off!   Yum!

Evergreen Career Presentations – Ashley Skorupa

Ashley Skorupa presented to the 5th grade class today regarding her career as a photographer. She spoke with the students regarding the importance of math and art. She also answered several questions regarding the professional requirements of a photographer. Following her presentation, Mrs. Skorupa took a professional picture of the 5th grade class for their yearbook.

Evergreen “Tooth Fairy” Presentation

At EverGreen Elementary the Pre-Kindergarteners and the second grade students had a special visit from the “Tooth Fairy” and her “Toothbrush Friend” to help celebrate National Children’s Dental Health month.
The students learned how to properly brush their teeth to avoid cavities, compared and contrasted different food items that are healthy for our teeth, as well as learned that they need to brush their teeth twice-a-day, for two minutes.  They even had the opportunity to brush a dragon’s teeth and tongue!  The teachers and students would like to thank Sprout Dental for presenting us with this lesson!
