Senior Grace Hollister, Swimming

Grace represents Western Wayne HS attached to the Holy Cross swim team. She finished first in the 200 m free with a time of 2:18.48 & first in the 100 free with a 1:02.30 in the meet vs Scranton Prep.

Regular season starts tonight!

The regular season for Basketball and Wrestling starts tonight!  The boys basketball team will host Valley View tonight, JV starting at 5:30 PM and Varsity at 7:30 PM. The wrestling team will travel to Mt. View tonight with the  Varsity team wrestling at 7:00 PM.  Jr. High wrestling starts at 6:00 PM.

The girls basketball will play at Valley View tomorrow, 1/3/19 with varsity tip-off at 7:00 PM. JV plays at 5:30 PM.

Congratulations Dylan Walck!

Dylan Walck has been selected to the 2018 Scranton Times All-Regional Defensive Team.  Dylan was a DB for Western Wayne this fall.  He had 85 total tackles with 3 interceptions.  He added 20 receptions for 233 yards, 290 yards passing, 399 yards rushing, and 6 total touchdowns. Girls are 2018 “Honesdale Jaycees Basketball Tournament” Champs!

Congratulations to the girls Varsity basketball team on their 40-36 win over Honesdale to win the Honesdale Jaycees Tournament!  The entire team demonstrated great spirit and effort to capture the title!

Kaeli Romanowski named tournament team MVP and Gracie Guarino named all-Tournament MVP.

Guarino and Herzog Athletes of the week for December 10-16, 2018

Senior Mitchell Herzog, wrestling, earned a major decision win over Montrose to help secure a 40-39 team win and a solid 4th place at the Lackawanna League tournament.

Senior Gracie Guarino, girls basketball team, had 30 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals and 7 assists to help the team to a 2-1 record last week and a 6 – 1 start to the season.
