Western Wayne’s Track and Field Coach Justin Collins was recently nominated to the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.
At Western Wayne High School, Justin was a 3x District II Champion in the Long Jump; a 2x Champion in the Triple Jump; a 3x League All-Star; and 3x Scranton Times All-Regional selection. Justin was a 3x PIAA State Medalist’ twice in the Long Jump and once in the Triple Jump. He was also a 1000 point scorer in basketball, and a 2x League All-Star and Scranton Times All-Regional selection. He was selected as the Wayne Country Player of the Year in 1999. Just was a 4x NCAA Div II Track & Field All-American in the Long Jump while at Kutzstown University. He was also a multiple time All-Conference/All-PSAC selection and a 7x Individual PSAC/ECAC Conference Champion. In 2004 Justin was named Outstanding Field Athlete at the PSAC’s Indoor Conference Championships; the Indoor PSAC’s Track & Field Athlete of the Year; US Track Coaches Associations Regional Athlete of the Year; Men’s Track & Field captain and MVP. He was also named Kutztown’s Male Athlete of the Year. Justin holds many Kutztown and PSAC Track & Field records and led his team to 3 Outdoor and 2 Indoor PSAC/ECAS championships.
