The Varsity Girls and Boys Track teams competed at the 63rd Annual Jordan Relays held at Scranton Memorial last night, the first meet of the Track and Field postseason. The Varsity Girls won their second straight Jordan Relays title. It is their second title in program history. The Lady Wildcats won three of the six events on the track in the AA division. The 1200 Medley team of Annie Skirpan, Elizabeth Pulice, Gianna DeBastiani, and Trina Barcarola took first. The 1600 Medley of Cassidy Asinski, Noelle Orehek, Morgan Wagner, and Annie Skirpan earned a gold medal. And to wrap up the day, the 4 by 400 Relay of Sam Atcavage, Elizabeth Pulice, Gianna DeBastiani, and Trina Barcarola took first. In addition, the 4 by 100 Relay of Cassidy Asinski, Gianna DeBastiani, Elizabeth Pulice, and Trina Barcarola earned a silver medal. The 4 by 800 Relay of Paige Barillo, Anya Rusnak, Torri Hutchinson, and Haley Estus also took second.
The Boys finished third in the AA Division. The Boys 4 by 400 Relay of Gary Geinitz, Brandon O’Sullivan, Jake Pasake, and Johnny Barcarola took second to lead the boys team. The Boys Distance Medley of Brandon O’Sullivan, Gary Geinitz, Leonard Johnson, and Jake Pasake earned a bronze medlal, while Brandon, Gary, and Leonard teamed up with Ryan Cavage to earn a bronze medal in the 4 by 800 Relay. The 4 by 100 Relay team of Kobe Sauter, Johnny Barcarola, Ezra Tetreault, and Dylan Walck earned a third place medal as well.
The teams are back at it this Tuesday at 4pm at the Robert Spagna Lackawanna League Championship Meet at Scranton Memorial Stadium. #RollCats
