Special Education Comp Plan

The Pennsylvania Department of Education revised its Strategic Plan process and format in 2011 and developed the new Comprehensive Plan Model for use by school districts throughout the Commonwealth. The Western Wayne School District Comprehensive Plan dated July 1, 2018 through June 20, 2021, is a collaborative effort between students, parents, staff, administration, School Board, and community of the District.

Parent Notification

Earlier today our high school administration and school police conducted an investigation in response to concerns reported regarding student safety, specifically at our high school.  The investigation was thorough and no threat was found. State police were also informed and consulted as a precautionary measure.  We will continue to be vigilant in our efforts to ensure a safe school environment.  As always, the safety of our school community is our highest priority.  Please contact us with questions or concerns.

Pride and Patriotism Parade

This Saturday, June 10th, the high school marching band will participate in the Pride and Patriotism Parade held in downtown Waymart. The parade begins at 2:00.

National Honor Society (NHS) Ceremony Date Change

  The National Honor Society (NHS) Ceremony scheduled for Wednesday, 5/17/17, at 7 PM has been changed to Thursday, 5/18/17, at 7 PM.  The reason for the change is an scheduling conflict with the rescheduled PIAA District II Track & Field Championships that would have impacted several students attending the NHS Ceremony.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you,

WWSD Earth Day at Evergreen

We would like to invite you to join the Western Wayne Community in celebrating Earth Day.  Our EverGreen Elementary School was built as a learning environment for the community, with the Board of Education’s intent, to have a building available to the community for future generations to learn and practice sustainable, environmental, and healthy living.  We are proud to invite you to what we hope becomes an annual community event, in which we can all learn from each other how best to protect our planet.

TRANSPORTATION NOTE – bridge replacement

The Western Wayne School District was informed March 24th, that there will be a road closure for bridge replacement on SR3004 over West Branch Wallenpaupack Creek, Salem Township; intersections of Cemetery Road, Pond Road, Moon Road and Callapoose Road.  Detour starting Monday, March 27, 2017.  Transportation is being modified for those student affected by the detour.  Parents will be notified as soon as possible of any adjustments to their child’s transportation.  Please contact the District with any questions or concerns.
