Junior Leadership Northern Poconos Graduation – 2018

Congratulations to the 2018 graduating class of the Junior Leadership Northern Poconos.  This group of Western Wayne 11th graders, along with students from Forest City Regional, Wallenpaupack Area and Wayne Highlands, participated throughout the year learning about their community and leadership skills.  The group ended with a project entitled “We Have Found Balance” which will be a video that tackles some of the stresses that students face today.  Representing Western Wayne High School this year were Emily Christina, R.J. Clemens, Jillian Dudley, Kayli Hineline and Grace Hollister.

Touch a Truck at EverGreen Elementary

 

On May 23, 2018, EverGreen Elementary hosted a Touch a Truck Event. Students were provided the opportunity to explore vehicles such as: satellite truck, plow truck, bucket truck, oil tanker, dump trucks, lifted smart car, fire truck, police car, and state police motor carrier van. Through this engaging and hands on experience, student learned about the world of work, different careers, and the importance of the vehicles to the careers.

Junior Information Night – Thursday, April 5th @6:00

 

On Thursday, April 5, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. the Guidance Department will be conducting  Junior Information Night. The purpose of this evening is to inform parents/guardians about:  selecting a college/training program, college cost, the college admissions process, registration and deadlines for the SAT/ACT, general financial aid information, Career Cruising, military and job opportunities and other important information.  A representative from college admissions and the military will also provide information.

Philly College Tour – 2018

On Friday, March 23rd, the Western Wayne High School Guidance Department, through the help of a grant from the Wayne/Pike Workforce Alliance, took 11th grade students to tour La Salle University, Thomas Jefferson University, Temple University and Drexel University. This trip allowed students to visit schools they might not have had the chance to see, learn about their programs, discover what they might like or not like in a college and get the feel of different campuses.
