David Samson Memorial Scholarship | The David Samson Memorial Scholarship is a $1000 award given to a graduating Western Wayne senior that demonstrates community involvement and/or extracurricular activities, Eligibility is limited to graduating seniors planning on attending a 2 or 4 year College/University or trade school. The recipient of the scholarship will be notified on Senior Night. Return completed application to WW Guidance Office by May 8, 2024. | May 8, 2024 | See Guidance for details. |
Lake Ariel Lions Club Scholarship | The Lake Ariel Lions Club Scholarship is a $500 award given to a graduating Western Wayne senior that demonstrates community involvement and/or extracurricular activities, Eligibility is limited to graduating seniors planning on attending a technical or trade school. The recipient of the scholarship will be notified on Senior Night. Return completed application to WW Guidance Office by May 8, 2024. | May 8, 2024 | See Guidance for details. |
Rotary Club of Hamlin/Lake Ariel Scholarship | The Rotary Club of Hamlin Lake Ariel will offer two Memorial Scholarships in 2024. $1,000 will be awarded to an individual attending a post-secondary school, and $1,000 will be awarded to an individual attending a trade school.

Western Wayne Science Scholarship | The Science Scholarship is awarded to a graduating WW Senior that demonstrates academic excellence, as well as community involvement or extracurricular science activities. Eligibility is limited to graduating seniors planning to attend a four-year college/university. The recipient of the scholarship will be notified on Senior Night. Preference will be given to students majoring in Environmental Science or Biology. | May 10, 2024 | See Guidance for details. |
Harriet Greene Chapter #198 Order of the Eastern Star Scholarship | Awarded to a senior looking to further their education at a four-year college, two-year college or trade/vocational school. | May 17, 2024 | See Guidance for details. |
Thorpe Scholarship | The Thorpe Merit Scholarship is a $500 award given to a graduating Western Wayne senior that demonstrates academic excellence as well as community involvement and/or extracurricular activities. Eligibility is limited to graduating seniors planning on attending a two or four year college/university, or trade school. | May 17, 2024 | See Guidance for details. |
Erin Jessica Moreken Scholarship | This $1000 scholarship was established by the Erin Jessica Moreken Drug & Alcohol Treatment Fund, Inc. in 2014. It was created to assist a graduating senior who has a financial need and is scheduled to graduate in June of the current school year. Criteria for eligibility has been determined as follows:
1. Candidate must be a High School Senior from a local high school. 2. Candidate must have all requirements necessary to graduate in June, 2023. 3. Candidate and/or immediate family member have or have had drug/alcohol issues (also known as Substance Use Disorder), and the candidate has succeeded despite this dysfunction within the family. Candidates who themselves are in recovery must have at least one year sobriety, have a sponsor, and be a member of a support program. 4. Candidate must have been accepted into a post high school program, with plans to further his/her education/career before funds are disbursed. Post high school acceptance letter must accompany application. 5. Scholarship may be awarded anonymously if requested by recipient. |

GDS Fair Scholarship | ELIGIBTLITY REQUIREMENTS
1. Students must be a graduating high school senior in any of the following schoot districts: Deiaware Valley, East Stroudsburg North, Forest City, North Pocono, Wallenpaupack, Wayne Highlands or Western Wayne including those enrolled in a state-approved home school program who is enrolled in either an associate or bachelor degree level program or a post-secondary trade or technical school. Students must be starting their courses in the summer or fall semester of the current year. 2. Applicant must have contributed to communit5r service locally or in school. 3. Applicant must meet at least ONE of the following requirements: Be a member of the GDS Fair Be a child or grandchild of a member of the GDS Fair Have contributed significantly to the preparation and/or conduct of the GDS Fair in the past 3 years |
